Book of Rules

Formal operations have not yet begun. We are currently running trains informally in a loop operation, at the discretion of the dispatcher. At this time, the following simple rules are in effect:

  • Keep track of the back of your train. Not all trains have resistance wheelsets installed yet, so the dispatcher won't know if you've lost part of your train. Make sure your cabin car (or last passenger car) remains connected.
  • When reporting your locating (o/s'ing) always do so AFTER your final car has cleared the designated area.
  • ALWAYS report clear of ASH, DREW, and ROCKVILLE interlockings, in addition to any others the dispatcher may request.
  • When the dispatcher clears you "to" a location, you are to STOP at the home signal at the designated interlocking plant. Do not pass the home signal! (In the case of DREW interlocking, coming out of DREW Staging, stop at the silver tape. There is no home signal due to the arrangement of the physical plant at this location.)
