The York Haven Shops

The York Haven Shops are a fictitious entity. The town of York Haven, Pa., is on the Pennsy's York Haven Line, which is really the dual mains of the Northern Central Branch and the Atglen & Susquehanna "Low Grade" Branch. There are/were no shops there... there was a paper plant there and there still is a hydroelectric dam and plant on the site.

I see many other modelers applying "shop" names to their work -- Oyster Creek Shops, Marshall Shops, etc. -- so I said "Hey, I need a name too!" I came up with York Haven Shops as it had a certain ring to it... at least to me!

The York Haven Shops name is applied to models that I build, either as simple repaints and detailings, scratchbuilds, or buildups from kits.

The York Haven Shops perform work only for the PRR's Eastern Region, with no current plans to contract with other railroads.
