The Marysville Yard was originally a mid-system yard for the Northern Central Railway. Early in the 1900's, the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Northern Central Railway teamed up to create the Enola Yard and the new Rockville Bridge. Once the new yard was completed, the Marysville Yard lost significance.

At some point there was a rail mill at Marysville, up until the newer facility was constructed at Lucknow, in north Harrisburg.

As of 1954, the Marysville Yard had become largely a storage yard for rolling stock and steam locomotives awaiting the torch.

The Model

The Marysville Station, though out of service as of this date, would be modeled. The prototype remains today.

The primary function of the Marysville area on the layout is to provide running space for the Enola leads from the Rockville flyover to rise to meet the main line prior to entering BANKS interlocking.
