ASH Staging Yard

The ASH Staging Yard consists of 18 tracks, direct connected to the west to the DREW Staging Yard.

The ASH Staging Yard feeds trains onto the visible layout via three routes, including the "main line" from Pittsburgh and points west; the leads from Enola Yard at Enola, Pa.; and the Sunbury Branch at ROCKVILLE.

Travelling east, the 18 tracks converge into four. They then pass through a full interlocking and feed five tracks into a helix for the trip up to the top level. The fifth track, the Enola lead, actually terminates at the middle level.

This area on the layout has been dubbed ASH after my daughter, since it does not resemble a specific prototype area but requires a label for operational purposes.
