One F32 - #472999 - was built at Altoona in December 1936 and was designed to carry three of the short highway trailers in use at the time. The car measured 70'0" over strikers and had a capacity of 50-tons. Of riveted construction, it had a fishbelly sill.

Time proved the F32 to be too ahead of its time until the F39's were produced in the mid-1950s.
